WATERFORD, STANISLAUS COUNTY — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL. Waterford introduced a new Beard Park master-planning effort in May 2026, asking residents to consider how the park and its facilities should be redesigned for future use. The city’s announcement provides concept drawings and a public survey.
Local context and public participation
Beard Park already includes recreational amenities, including a skate park, playground and pavilion areas. A master plan can help establish which features should be retained, improved or added based on local needs and available resources.
The concept imagery is not a construction contract or a guarantee that every illustrated feature will be installed. Changes to park design can require engineering, funding, accessibility review and separate approval.
Residents should review the latest city recreation notices to determine whether the original survey remains open or whether the project has moved to a later design phase. Input about safety, shade, play facilities and access can inform priorities, but final decisions rest with the appropriate city officials.
This project is separate from the city-led planning effort for S. Reinway Park, which is being reported through its own process.
